9 Reasons Why BlogSpot is Better than Free WordPress

They say, WordPress is much better than BlogSpot for a free blog. Oh, is that so? Through this article, I will explain 9 reasons why BlogSpot is better than WordPress for a free blog.

BlogSpot is better than free WordPress, BlogSpot vs Free WordPress, Blogger vs WordPress

Before that, let's take a look at the reasons why many articles are in favor of WordPress and "down" BlogSpot.

  1. The articles in favor of WordPress are published by hosting providers where they have an automatic web installation feature using the WordPress platform. That is, WordPress is one of the products they sell.
  2. When comparing WordPress and BlogSpot, they don't make a distinction between free blogs and paid websites. In this case, WordPress and BlogSpot cannot be compared because WordPress has a paid version whereas BlogSpot is forever free.
  3. Due to unbalanced alignments and lack of knowledge, many writers favor WordPress over BlogSpot. Most writers start blogging with paid WordPress so they don't know anything about the advantages of BlogSpot that only Bloggers know.

Dissatisfied with the articles that discuss "Which is better between WordPress and BlogSpot", so I decided to write this article. But I need to underline that I'm discussing a free blog, not a paid one.

BlogSpot is easier to use

All authors agree that BlogSpot is easier to use than WordPress. I also agree with that. However, for me, BlogSpot is easier to use for those who understand website programming, especially those who master HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Users who do not have any knowledge of website programming, especially website interface design, I recommend using the free WordPress. BlogSpot is actually intended for those who understand front-end website programming.

Freedom in Design

As I mentioned earlier that BlogSpot is easier for those who have knowledge of website programming, it's time you know that BlogSpot is not as trivial as many people talk about. By using BlogSpot, you can design your free blog to look like a professional website.

All you need is a little understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Look! You can't even add JavaScript in free WordPress. Using the free WordPress, you have no freedom of design. You'll have to stick with the theme you use (and free WordPress themes are really limited in number).

More complete management features

I don't agree that free WordPress has more complete management features than BlogSpot. Who said that? If you can't even add JavaScript code to your blog template, how can you say that free WordPress is more complete than BlogSpot? By using BlogSpot, you can manage navigation menus, sidebars, footers, images, labels, tags, including meta tags, improve your blog's SEO, and so on. All of this you can't do freely in free WordPress. In fact, in WordPress, it's free, you can't add meta tags because everything is already set by WordPress.

More flexible customization

Hostinger mistakenly says that WordPress is easier to customize than Blogger. Who said WordPress is easier to customize? BlogSpot is much easier to customize. There are more free themes that look professional and each one can still be customized easily even for those with little knowledge of CSS and JavaScript. By using free WordPress, even the knowledge of a professional website developer is useless.

No ads

Are you aware that BlogSpot will not display ads on your blog unless you place the ads yourself? Try using free WordPress and see for yourself the ads start to spread on your blog pages. Using BlogSpot for your free blog, then you will have a holy blog display from advertisements unless you display these ads yourself.

Free custom domain

Both WordPress and BlogSpot use subdomains. The difference is, if you use BlogSpot, you can use a custom domain without having to pay a dime. You may need to purchase a domain but implementing it on BlogSpot is free. In fact, if you want, you can use a free domain like EU.ORG. Of course, you won't be able to use a custom domain in free WordPress unless you have to buy a domain and upgrade your WordPress version separately. How much money you have to spend just for a free blog if you use WordPress.

More guaranteed security

BlogSpot is owned by Google. This means that Google guarantees its security. Until now, it never happened that BlogSpot was hacked. Who doubts Google's security system?

Faster and easier index

What use is your article if it is not indexed by search engines like Google or Bing and Yandex? By using BlogSpot, you only need to create a Google Search Console account using the same email as the email you use on BlogSpot. Automatically, Google will verify the blog as your property. Then, you just need to add your BlogSpot sitemap to Google Search Console. Easy as that. Good luck with the free WordPress.

Earn money with Google AdSense

This is my favorite part. By using BlogSpot, you have the opportunity to earn money with Google AdSense. In fact, you can also be affiliated with MGID or Adsterra. This opportunity will be far from you if you use free WordPress unless you use paid WordPress. God, why do you have to spend more money to earn less money?

There are many more reasons why BlogSpot is better than free WordPress but I think some of the reasons above are enough to convince you to choose BlogSpot over free WordPress. If you have a lot of money, go for paid WordPress which can't compare to BlogSpot.
